UV Protection Swimwear For The Whole Family

You probably don’t even realize it, but when you are outside it is not only your exposed skin that is at risk of being damaged by the sun. Sure, the skin under your clothing feels protected and will not readily burn, but the sun’s harmful UV rays still go through your clothing and penetrate your skin.

Of course usually the time we spend the most time out in the sun is when we are swimming or playing in the water. Most of us know to smear on a good sunscreen before heading out, but few of us think about under our swimsuit.

In order to protect the skin under your suit you could certainly put sunscreen on everywhere. However, the material rubbing against your skin would surely wear away any protection that you might have originally had. Fortunately there is a better solution to this problem.

UV protection swimwear is the answer. This type of swimwear is made of a special kind of material that is very closely knit. It does not allow ultraviolet rays to get through to your skin.

In addition to this, some UV protection swimwear is treated with a coating of sunscreen to really reflect those UV rays. This gives you double protection and has been proven highly effective I testing.

It is a good idea to have everyone in your family wearing this type of swimsuit. The sooner you start exposing your skin to UVA rays, the greater the buildup will be over time and the more likely they are to develop skin problems, including skin cancer, in the future.

Start protecting your children’s skin early on from damage the sun can cause. Still it is never too late to start taking better care of your skin.

Babies have very sensitive skin and should not be exposed to the sun for very long at all. UV protection swimwear is especially important for these little guys. Sunscreen gets rubbed off easily as you handle the child and it is a pain to keep reapplying so often. With the proper swimsuit you don’t have to worry about it.

Another benefit of UV protection swimwear is that many of the styles cover more of your skin. They are still comfortable to wear and swim in, but you don’t have to worry so much about your sunscreen on difficult to reach areas.

Doctors have said that the best way to get full protection from the sun is to wear sun protective clothing. This is certainly true of using sun protective swimwear while you are active in the water.

Take good care of your children’s skin as well as your own. Remember that a sunburn is not the only indication that you are getting too much sun. The UVA rays that sneak through regular clothing don’t color your skin but still cause damage. You can prevent that with UV protection swimwear and other clothing.
